Father's Day

Father's Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. Many countries celebrate it on the third Sunday of June but it is also celebrated widely on other days. Father's Day complements Mother's Day, a celebration honoring mothers and motherhood[1].
I found the grill and it fits
Why is it that children often will take mothers out to eat on Mother’s Day, but they expect their father’s to cook on Father’s Day? It’s just not right! Is it because our families think that typically the kitchen is the mother’s domain, and that we should give them a second night off from cooking every year and cook our own damn food?  Is it because our families think that we want to be outside grilling, maybe drinking beer and socializing!? I don’t know the answer but why can’t we be taken out for a nice dinner!
My wife's patio herb garden
Personally I don’t mind because I do enjoy cooking and I just bought a new grill so why not! This Father’s Day I will be outside grilling some food for my family and enjoying it in the comfort of my own home. Let’s just hope that my kids don’t stick me with dish duty as well!
BBQ beer can chicken?

Now what to make on my miniature grill? Beer can chicken would be nice. Will it fit on the grill? Lobster would be nice. Then again I could keep it simple and stupid (KISS).

Maybe a slab of ribs
Now on the topic of gifts…I don’t want yet another tie or a pipe or smelly cheap cologne that I will never wear! How about if this Father’s Day my kids chip in for the grill that I just bought just to cook them food? How about a grill cover, or a electric rotisserie for my new grill? I think all of these would be nice gift choices!
